Peace Hills Insurance Job Opportunities


We currently have a position available for an Application Developer in our Information Technology department. This will be based in out of our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Software Development Manager and working within a dynamic team of IT development professionals, this role is responsible for the support and development of our applications, mainly related to our Guidewire system.

More specifically: Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 Review software requirements, build Architectural diagrams & design documents.

 Write testable code and creating associated unit/automated tests.

 Understanding of the SDLC, Agile, and DevSecOps and be able to help build processes around them.

 Knowledge of building microservices and cloud service platforms (AWS) an asset.

 Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.

 Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.

 Help provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.

 Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.

Required Qualifications:

B.Sc in Computing Science, Technical Diploma Specializing in Programming, or equivalen

t.  1 to 5+ years of development focused on Java or .Net and good working knowledge of JavaScript/HTML5/CSS

 Experience with client-side frameworks like React or Angular.

 Experience in designing REST based APIs.

 Guidewire development experience (GOSU, Jutro) and certification would be a huge asset.

 Solid experience using Microsoft SQL Server and related query tools.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

 Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment.

 Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 Results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment

.  Previous experience in insurance or financial institutions is an asset.

 Experience with .Net technologies (C#, ASP.Net, ASP Web API or other Web Development toolkits) are a nice to have. Working at Peace Hills Along with a competitive base pay,

ACCOUNTING CLERK

We currently have a position available for an Accounting Clerk in our Accounting Department. Reporting to the Billing Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of a professional and efficient business.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 Timely processing of accounts receivable, including verification and posting of payments and refunds and ensuring they are recorded correctly in computer based system

 Answer phone calls from customers, brokers and other departments to address a variety of billing matters

 Resolve issues and answer questions from internal and external customers

 Liaise with Underwriters and other groups across the organization regarding any billing transactions

 Preform reconciliations as required

 Resolve issues and answer questions from internal and external customers

 Maintain abeyances and ensure timely and effective follow-ups

 Deliver exceptional customer service in upholding our service standards and our commitment to continuous improvement

 Other duties as required

Required Qualifications

 High school diploma is required, relevant post-secondary education is an asset

 Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, working with computer-based systems

 Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service

 Effective problem-solving skills and math skills

 Strong data entry skills

 Possess a pleasant telephone manner and solid communication skills

 Exceptional attention to detail including a high degree of numerical accuracy

 Intermediate skills in Microsoft excel

 Ability to learn new computing software quickly

 Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team

 Professional, efficient, and proactive with time-management and organizational skills

 Flexible and adaptable; able to work in an environment of shifting priorities and pressures
