SUMMARY
The Group Care Support Worker’s role is to empower and assist young individuals in achieving their personal, emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, and educational goals while promoting their cultural identity and overall well-being.
The Group Care Support Worker provides a passionate and enthusiastic approach to assisting children with behavioural challenges as their advocate and providing encouragement to develop and maintain independent living skills.
Candidates will display compassion, accountability, respect, inclusivity, courage, and innovation towards their work ethic. Candidates will provide culturally sensitive support and guidance to Indigenous youth residing in a group home setting. Candidates will implement flexibility and professionalism to work with individuals with complex needs. Candidates are required to work shift work, including weekends and some statutory holidays
· KCWS provides onboarding and extensive ongoing training for advancement within group care
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Grade 12 is required, with preference given to those with a diploma or degree in Social Work or Human Services and relevant experience.
· Must have a vehicle and class 5 Driver’s License with $2,000,000 liability insurance.
· Willing to use personal vehicle as part of the role.
