Summary: Maskwacis Cultural College is seeking a Community Learning Coordinator for their Social Work program. The position will commence once a suitable candidate is secured and will be mentored by the Dean of Indigenous Social Work faculty. The Social Work Diploma program is the entry credential for social work practice in Alberta and graduates are eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
The responsibilities of the Community Learning Coordinator include but are not limited to:
• Overseeing the Community Learning Coordinator requirements of all social work students;
• Establishing partnership relationships with relevant agencies and field supervisors;
• Ensure required Community Learning Coordinator documentation is in place.
• Engaging and guiding students in their field education journeys,
• Participating in research opportunities as applicable.
• Ensure Community Learning Coordinator dispute resolution process
• Any other duties assigned. Qualifications:
• Must have a Master of Social Work education credential or assessed equivalency, significant social work experience and be registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers;
• Must have extensive understanding and commitment for issues affecting Indigenous peoples; this knowledge and practice base is a priority for all candidates;
• Strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to speak an Indigenous language
• Demonstrated experience with distance learning programs.
• Knowledge of supports within the Four Nations.
• Flexibility and Adaptability.
• Access to own vehicle/transportation.
• Willing to adhere to an oath of confidentiality.
