Summary:
The Oskayatopowin Committee is looking for 4 female and 4 male SCN youth members who will work with community youth, elders and Nation members in empowering and unifying youth through Wahkotowin (kinship), advocating on behalf of the Samson Cree Nation youth as a voice, by:
· Organizing activities that would encourage opportunities for youth engagement in and around the community; and
· Bringing any youth-related matters to Chief and Council attention as needed; and
· Any matters referred by Chief and Council; and
· Other areas identified by the Oskayatopowin Committee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Oskayatopowin Committee, you will be required to:
· Attend (and participate) in bi-monthly meetings.
· Promote and endorse the mandate of the committee.
· Network with SCN programs and services.
· Attend and/or host local cultural events.
Qualifications:
· Must be a Samson Cree Nation member.
· Must be 18 to 25 years of age.
· Must be attending either High School, Upgrading or Post-Secondary education, or be a graduate of same.
· Must hold a Class 5 Driver’s License.
· Must have own means of transportation.
· Cultural knowledge is an asset.
· Social Media/Podcasting knowledge is an asset.
